Audit Director

About the role

Our client, a leading international accounting and advisory firm, is seeking an Audit Director to lead a diverse portfolio of audit engagements. You will act as a trusted adviser to owner‑managed businesses, delivering high‑quality audit, tax and advisory solutions while supporting the firm’s collaborative culture and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of audit clients, including technically complex engagements.
• Act as a trusted business adviser to owner‑managers, providing both business and personal insights.
• Take overall responsibility for client engagements, including planning, resourcing and delivery.
• Manage the end‑to‑end audit process, ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget.
• Allocate work effectively across the team and maintain high standards of client service.
• Review audit work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Analyse complex business situations to identify key risks, issues and priorities.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members to support their professional growth.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent) qualified.
• Excellent working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Proven experience auditing clients across a range of industries.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial client portfolio.
• Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and mentoring teams.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, client‑focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
