Risk Analyst – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

The Risk Analyst will help protect our platform by identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks. Working remotely with cross‑functional teams, you will turn large, messy data sets into actionable insights that keep fraud and abuse in check while preserving a smooth user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor platform data to spot emerging threats such as payment fraud, account takeovers, spam, phishing, and synthetic identity networks.
• Query large datasets using SQL, Python or similar tools to uncover attack vectors and quantify impact.
• Design and implement rules, models, and workflows that detect and prevent high‑risk activity with minimal friction for legitimate users.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Legal to embed risk controls throughout the product lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as a primary responder during large‑scale fraud spikes or other active risk events, making rapid decisions to contain losses.
• Build dashboards and reports to track key risk indicators, communicate findings to leadership, and measure mitigation effectiveness.
• Provide feedback on internal risk tools and collaborate on improving detection automation.
• Assist in evaluating third‑party risk intelligence vendors.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk analysis, fraud intelligence, trust & safety analytics, or financial crime investigations within tech, e‑commerce, or fintech.
• Strong ability to translate raw data into actionable insights and present findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of common attack vectors (chargeback fraud, promo abuse, botnets, deepfakes) and mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with global compliance frameworks such as AML, KYC, GDPR, or PSD2.
• Proactive curiosity and capacity to lead cross‑functional initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
