Field Technical Assistance Operator – Earthmoving Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a Field Technical Assistance Operator to support the maintenance and repair of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment in Cape Verde. The role involves working on‑site with the technical team to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the technical team in diagnosing, maintaining and repairing Caterpillar construction machinery.
• Carry out preventive and corrective interventions on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components.
• Prepare and organise tools, equipment and spare parts required for each intervention.
• Analyse equipment faults and breakdowns, following established operational procedures and safety standards.
• Support workshop activities to guarantee quality and efficiency of services.

Required profile

• Technical or professional training in Mechatronics, Mechanics, Electromechanics or a related field.
• Interest in heavy machinery and construction equipment.
• Responsibility, attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to new technical challenges.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams (preferred).
• Familiarity with workshop tools and equipment.
• Basic technical English (preferred).
