National Evaluation Socio-Economic and Gender Specialist

About the role

The Evaluation Team seeks a National Evaluation Socio-Economic and Gender Specialist to lead the design, data collection, and reporting of a high‑impact evaluation. The specialist will ensure all outputs meet UN Evaluation Group (UNEG) and Development Cooperation Office (DCO) quality standards and are delivered in English.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare an Inception Report that refines the evaluation scope, Theory of Change, methodology, stakeholder mapping, work plan and mitigation strategies.
• Develop data collection tools such as interview guides, focus‑group protocols and survey instruments, and obtain EMG approval before field deployment.
• Manage data collection, curate the database, and produce draft and final evaluation reports, including presentations of findings.
• Coordinate with the Evaluation Manager, UN Resident Coordinator and the Evaluation Steering Committee to ensure quality and relevance of deliverables.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in socio‑economic and gender‑focused evaluations, preferably within UN or international development contexts.
• Strong understanding of evaluation design, theory of change, and mixed‑methods data collection.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
