Finance Manager - 5-Star Resort, Cape Verde

About the role

STAIRS – People Advisors is recruiting a Finance Manager for an international hospitality group's 5-star all-inclusive resort in Cape Verde. The role takes ownership of the resort's finance function, working closely with hotel management and the Group's finance leadership. It is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the resort's finance and administrative operations, ensuring accurate financial information and effective internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial planning and performance reporting.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
• Analyse financial results and recommend actions to hotel management, and partner with operational departments on cost control and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop the local finance and administrative team, and drive improvements in financial processes and reporting tools.
• Work with the General Manager and Group finance leadership on operational and strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Solid experience in hotel or resort finance, preferably within international hospitality groups.
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Assistant/Deputy Director of Finance or a comparable role.
• Experience leading finance teams and working with hotel operations.
• Previous international hospitality experience, especially in resort or all-inclusive settings, is highly valued.
• Willingness to relocate to Cape Verde and professional English; Portuguese and/or French is valued.

Required skills

• Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and cost control.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
