Operations Officer – Country Management Unit

About the role
The World Bank Group is seeking an Operations Officer to join its Country Management Unit for Cabo Verde. Based in Praia, the incumbent will support the implementation of the country program and act as a bridge between public‑sector operational work and private‑sector business development.
Key responsibilities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the Cabo Verde Country Partnership Framework and related strategic commitments.
- Coordinate with CMU staff, global practices, IFC and MIGA counterparts to align public and private sector engagement strategies.
- Contribute to analytical and advisory work that links development outcomes with operational performance and investment climate priorities.
- Maintain regular liaison with government officials, development partners, private‑sector representatives, civil society and media.
- Represent the World Bank Group in local forums, donor coordination platforms and stakeholder meetings.
- Identify and help cultivate business opportunities for IFC and private‑capital mobilization.
- Provide support to portfolio management across the CMU as needed.
Required profile
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (required); French is a plus.
- Ability to work under the guidance of the Resident Representative, Division Director and Operations Manager.
- Strong analytical mindset and experience in public‑private partnership environments.
