Remote Language Specialist – Data Annotation

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our remote team and support the development of advanced AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems. You will apply your linguistic expertise to annotate, review, and validate language data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets.
• Label data for parts of speech, sentiment, intent, and syntax according to project guidelines.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of annotated content.
• Develop and refine annotation guidelines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and inter‑annotator agreement assessments.
• Provide feedback to improve workflows and annotation standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and language structure.
• Experience in linguistic annotation or data‑labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI workflows.
• Knowledge of corpus linguistics or discourse analysis.
• Ability to work on multilingual projects.
