Space Applications Expert, Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a senior Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme. The role focuses on developing, deploying and promoting Earth Observation services and applications that leverage Copernicus data to address key development, climate and environmental challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of Earth Observation services and applications, especially those using Copernicus data and products.
• Support the uptake of EO solutions in sectors such as early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management and biodiversity.
• Collaborate with African institutions, policy makers and private sector partners to ensure relevance and impact of EO services.
• Contribute to knowledge exchange, capacity building and innovation within the Africa‑EU space ecosystem.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data, preferably in early warning, climate, environment, agriculture, water or biodiversity.
• Experience working with African institutions and facilitating user uptake is a plus.
